QUEEN BEE
Welcome to my little hive! I’m Donna Jurczak, the “Queen Bee” of Beauty Sweet Workshop and Humblebee's Toiletries Co., and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you.
Born and raised in Poland, I was always a big dreamer and inventor. My childhood was full of long bubble baths where I pretended to be Alexis Carrington Colby, conducting business with my trusty showerhead, and mixing my mom's luxurious bath salts into “innovative” bath potions. Those whimsical moments sparked my love of creating, and they inspired me to build a world where children can feel that same joy.
In 1999, driven by a desire for independence and the American Dream, I came to the USA and planted my roots in Glenview, Illinois. Before Beauty Sweet Workshop, I owned and ran an insurance agency. That experience gave me a strong foundation in business, marketing, and customer care. Today I bring 12 years in cosmetic manufacturing and 7 years in kids' entertainment to every event I host.
A magical party is a well-run event behind the scenes. I plan every detail: the timeline, the supplies, the setup, and the cleanup. That way parents can relax and kids can simply create. This same organization lets me go big. Beyond birthday parties in our private studio, I bring hands-on activity stations to schools, park districts, libraries, scout troops, camps, and corporate family events. These include a slime scoop station, a perfume bar, bath bomb making, and squishy making. I have also designed and led five-day summer camp programs for private groups. Whether it's 10 kids or a whole school, every child gets a fun, organized, hands-on experience.
I'm creative, and I'm resourceful. I formulate my own products and design every party experience from scratch. When I can't find the right tool, I make it. I even 3D-print my own molds for our parties. I also built the systems that keep everything running smoothly, including online booking, RSVPs, digital waivers, and custom invitation templates.
I'm not afraid of new ideas. Crossing an ocean, owning an agency, and launching a cosmetic line taught me that the best things happen when you say, “Let's try it!” That's why our menu keeps growing. For example, we added squishy making as soon as kids fell in love with the trend. If you have a creative idea for your event, bring it to me. I love a new challenge.
Our Glenview community is close to my heart. My husband Dan and I were married at OLPH parish, and our son attends School District 34. I proudly support local groups, scout troops, charities, and schools, and I donate regularly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
When I'm not hosting or making Humblebee's products, you'll find me on a DIY home project, in my garden, cooking, sewing, or relaxing by my frog pond with a cookbook or design magazine.
Thank you for being part of our journey at Beauty Sweet Workshop!
